The Moving Process
Here is how our consolidated shipments operate from start to finish:
We collect your items (including wrapping & padding all your furniture) from your pickup address and return them to our warehouse in Denver, CO. Your items would then be placed in storage vaults & shrink-wrapped before being stored in our climate-controlled holding area.
Preparing For The Long Haul
Your items would then be loaded onto the next semi-truck passing through your destination city. This truck would be on a shipping itinerary so that it would be making several delivery stops in various cities and would also contain other clients’ items.
There is no need for concern that your own items would inadvertently be offloaded elsewhere. However, we apply track-and-trace labeling (similar to the methods the Postal Service, UPS & FedEx employ) to all our customers’ belongings. Your items would also be loaded into our semi-truck based on where your destination city is positioned on our shipping route, so they would only be offloaded from the truck one time; once they reach you!
As soon as the delivery truck is filled and departs, it will take ON AVERAGE 1-14 business days to arrive at its destination.
The count starts from the first available date to receive the goods and not from the pickup date, so if you are ready to receive your goods immediately, your items will be loaded onto the next truck heading out to your destination city. Otherwise, they will stay in our warehouse until you notify us that you are ready to receive them.
The maximum delivery timeframe can be 21 business days. After this point, the client has a few options, including opening a claims file. Fortunately, DTC Movers have never reached this timeframe, let alone exceeded it.
The delivery window is never fixed due to potential impasses such as adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion (some of our deliveries occur in the center of many cities, and it can take a while for a semi-truck to navigate its way out), and any possible hold-ups at the delivery site of other customers before your own.
Remaining In Contact With You
However, you would not be left in the dark about where your items are. Our customer service team will provide you with as much up-to-date delivery information as you require once your delivery truck has been shipped from our warehouse.
We can also provide you with your delivery driver’s contact details so you can communicate with him directly if you so wish. Regardless, the driver will contact you at least 24 hours before he reaches your delivery address, so you will have ample time to be prepared for his arrival.
